About KS1 Art and Design
Art and Design at Key Stage 1 encourages children to explore their creativity while learning important skills. Pupils experiment with colour, shape and pattern, and they practise drawing, painting and using different materials to make their ideas come to life. This subject helps children to express themselves and to gain confidence in their own abilities.
Through topics such as Colours and Drawing Skills, children learn how to observe carefully and to represent the world around them. They also explore Materials and discover how different media can change the effect of their work. Looking at Art Movements and famous artists inspires pupils and shows them the many different ways art can be created.
Our KS1 Art and Design quizzes are designed to be fun as well as educational. They help reinforce what children are taught in school and give parents and teachers a simple way to support learning at home. By practising with quizzes, children improve their memory, build their knowledge, and develop a love for the subject.
